How to Use WordPress Manager in Softaculous

Softaculous WordPress Manager allows you to efficiently install, scan, import, and manage your WordPress sites, all from a single interface. This guide will walk you through the key features, including installation, scanning, remote imports, management sets, security measures, and feature plugins.


How to Install WordPress

1. Access Softaculous

  • Log in to your control panel and locate Softaculous Apps Installer.
  • Click on WordPress Manager to access installation options.

2. Configure Installation

  • Click Install and select your preferred domain or subdomain.
  • Fill in the details:
    • Site name and description.
    • Admin username, password, and email.
    • Database settings (optional).
  • Click Install to complete the setup.

Scan

If you've installed WordPress manually or through another method, Softaculous can detect these installations.

1. Open the WordPress Manager

  • Navigate to WordPress Manager from the control panel.

2. Run a Scan

  • Click on Scan to let Softaculous search for WordPress installations.
  • If any sites are found, they will be added to your list for management.

Remote Import

Softaculous allows you to import a WordPress site from a remote server.

1. Open Remote Import

  • In WordPress Manager, click Remote Import.

2. Enter Remote Site Details

  • Provide the domain, database credentials, and FTP/SFTP details of the existing WordPress site.
  • Click Import to transfer the site to your server.

Manage WordPress Set

Softaculous allows you to create and manage sets of plugins and themes for easier installation.

1. Create a Set

  • Click Manage Sets and choose Create New Set.

2. Select Plugins & Themes

3. Apply a Set

Apply Security Measures

1. Open Security Settings

  • In WordPress Manager, select your WordPress installation then click on Security Measures.

2. Enable Security Features

  • Apply security tweaks such as:
    • Change default administrator's username
    • Restrict access to files and directories
    • Block unauthorized access to xmlrpc.php
    • Block access to .htaccess and .htpasswd
    • Turn off pingbacks
    • Disable file editing in WordPress Dashboard
